Mashing is the term given to the start of the brewing process, where crushed grains are mixed with water to form a mixture called the “mash.” Malt and starches are transformed into sugars and proteins creating the sweet fermentable liquid called wort. Lautering is the process of separating the wort from spent grain as efficiently as possible.
BCast Stainless Mash Lauter Tuns are constructed of 304 Stainless Steel with rake style agitation, a false bottom to separate the solids form the wort, a plow to push out spent grains, and a low-pressure dimple wall heat exchange jacket for heating and cooling.
