A Hot Liquor Tank (HLT) is a vessel that heats brewing water to mash temperature. The industry term for this water is “hot liquor” - all other water used in the brewery, such as water used for cleaning, is simply called “water.”
Heating may be done with steam, a forced air burner, or an electric immersion heater. Our BCast Stainless Products hot liquor tanks are available in a range of sizes and can be set up with the heating option(s) of your choice.
